Yes, I have killed recently .... : (
Nope, no human died but something did die ...
I have written a bit about the clan of spider that lived in our toilet recently (if you're vaguely interested, read more about it in my regular blog at Three's-A-Company).
Current Update :
Mummy Spider was still alive & she came back. Her baby spider (I only saw 1 lately) was also still around. Recently, I've seen an even smaller baby spider though there's no way to tell who was the Mummy, this time.
So the story goes, that I was trying to have a leak in the loo when I saw Mummy Spider. In order to prevent her from getting wet by the water splashes, I kinda "lifted" her up with my toes. I did not notice that the area was wet, where I dropped her to safety. Alas, when I tried to rescue her ... it was already too late. I felt sooooo bad! I tried turning her repeatedly but I realised that she was long gone .... : (
I really felt so bad!
I had to tell Hubby & Ryan. My boy didn't quite understand what I meant when I said "Mummy, accidentally killed Mummy Spider". Ryan kept asking why. All I could say was that she died. "Why she die, Mummy?" Coz ... the mean fat lady was trying to be sooo smart by doing what she thought was helping ... but its obvious, that she made things worst !!!
The only "consolation" was that she lived a long fruitful life. She had many babies & she grew to be rather big (& fat), eventhough she lived in a humble toilet.
I know you must be thinking why am I sad about accidentally killing a silly spider. I guess that's just who I am. I am saddened whenever someone or some animal dies. I feel especially guilty when its my fault. I am only human.
I just hope Mummy Spider is enjoying herself in Heaven.
Meanwhile, her descendants live on ... in my toilet. I will keep up with updates of the Spider family, when ever I can.
Here's a photo of one of the baby spiders, that I managed to get ... a few days before the Mummy "left".
I know ... I'm a weird lady, I take photos of spiders that live in my loo.
Enjoy!
Baby Spider (2nd generation)
